Police have charged a former Melbourne teacher in relation to a number of sexual assaults that occurred 40 years ago.
The 79-year-old Inverloch man was charged with one count of buggery and 14 counts of gross indecency on Friday.
He has been released on bail and will appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court on 16 August.
The offences involve a number of victims and are alleged to have occurred in 1971.
At that time, the man was a teacher at a high school in Dandenong.
The investigation into the alleged sexual assaults is ongoing.
