David Rawnsley and fiancee missing from Tennant Creek in 2007

Another two people have been reported missing in the Northern Territory.

Police are investigating the whereabouts of a 33-year-old man from Tennant Creek, David Rawnsley, and his 33-year-old fiancee Belinda Elliot.

The pair left for Alice Springs January 29 and was due to return last Thursday.

Mr Rawnsley last contacted his family the day before they were due to arrive, saying he had had car trouble and had booked it into a mechanic to be fixed.

He is described as caucasian with a slight build and dark hair, while Ms Elliot is described as having shoulder length brown, curly hair, a large build and about 160 centimetres tall.

NT police also say they would like to speak to any mechanics who may have fixed a black VN Commodore recently.

Police are still continuing to search for 26-year-old New Zealander Jamie Herdman and 37-year-old Queensland man Oswal Orman, who have both gone missing from the Barkly region in separate incidents in the last two months.

Acting Sergeant Michael Whiting says they have not drawn a link between the missing couple and the two other missing men.

"What I'm hoping... is it's just a case of the person still being in Alice Springs somewhere and it's just a case of, hopefully, they haven't made contact with the missing person's father to let him know they're okay," he said.

"I hopes it's just a communication breakdown."
