Abbot George - Missing person search continues

Police continue to search for missing man Abbott George, last seen in the Laramba Community 205km north west of Alice Springs.

Senior Sergeant Michael Potts said he was last seen sometime between 3 – 8 July.

“We have reason to believe he may have received a lift in an unknown vehicle from the Napperby Station gates travelling in an unknown direction.  Other sources state he was headed to Larapinta Community Camp in Alice Springs.

“Police have concerns for Mr George’s health as he has a number of medical ailments.”

Mr George is described to be of Aboriginal appearance, 180cm tall with a very thin build. He has grey hair and eyes which appear blue due to his partial blindness.

At his last known sighting it is believed he was wearing a brown cowboy hat and a blue/grey checked flannelette long sleeve shirt with a grey zip-up fleece jumper over the top. He was also wearing black suit pants with blue and white runners.

Police urge anyone who may have seen Mr George, particularly if you were the driver of a vehicle which may have picked him up, to contact Police on 131 444.
