He has been sentenced to 12 years and 9 months, with a 10 year 9 month non parole period after pleading guilty to 15 charges, including sexually penetrating and indecently recording the young girl.
Clegg abused the 11-year-old between January 2013 and November 2014, but his overall offending continued until March 2015.
His abuse of the girl included taking photographs and videos of her wearing lingerie in a motel room and raping her as her father watched.
He was caught on chat lines using incredibly deluded statements like, “She grizzles but sometimes I think she does like it. I’m gentle with her.”
Seriously Clegg, how deluded can you be.....hopefully over the next 10-12 years you will come to the realisation that NO CHILD WANTS TO BE RAPED And no matter how gentle you may think you are...IT IS STILL RAPE !!
This poor child has been through so much trauma thanks to her so called "father," and the men who answered his ad on Craigslist. The last thing she needs is to hear Clegg's ridiculous excuses.
43-year-old Clegg admitted to separately taking indecent photographs of a five-year-old girl and also sharing images on an online chat forum.
The police found more than 42,000 images and videos of child exploitation material on Clegg's computer hard drives.
Judge Bruce Goetze said Clegg was aware of the 11-year-old girl's age and showed a complete disregard for her, causing her severe emotional trauma. "You used her as a sexual object," he said.
Judge Goetze accepted Clegg showed some remorse and had agreed to testify against the "father" but he had also pleaded guilty therefore Clegg's testimony was not needed.
Clegg showed his remorse by breaking down and crying in the court room. Sorry Clegg, but FACAA are calling "Crocodile tears" on that one.
If you were even slightly remorseful for your actions you wouldn't have gone back time, and time, and time again for almost 3 years !
You sure as hell wouldn't have taken photos of her, forcing her to wear degrading outfits.
And you wouldn't have breached your bail conditions by living close to a school and childcare centre.
Don't fake a few tears and say you're remorseful, there is a big difference between true remorse and just plain feeling sorry for yourself !
The so called "father" is currently serving 22 and a half years in prison for his part in bringing together the ""Evil 8" to sexually abuse his daughter whilst he watched and for sexually abusing her himself.
Sentences for Child Abusers and Sexual Predators are still not nearly long enough for the lives destroyed and the damage done, but together we will change that.
